This is my dog Kami drawn in 2 to 3 minute each in Sharpie. I try to not make him touching the edges of paper, but that didn't go as I planned.

I'm not much of a fan of small dogs usually, but I have to say that his overbite and pigtails are pretty cute. I like some of your directional lines-- in the second row, for example, I find the first one more successful than the second. Watch out for his feet- they're probably pretty fluffy, but remember that there are legs in there. Since you've drawn Kami before, maybe studying some other dogs would help.
