Hey Jordan, the way you cropped the top and middle image is really nice and you did a good job with the perspective, but I wish you had drawn from a mirror like I asked and not a photo. (I can tell you drew from a photo because your eyes are all looking down, not at us/the mirror) :) I know it seems like a little thing, but drawing from life really helps train your eye and often leads to better drawings, because you don't have the "stillness" of photos. Something to think about!
I like the line works on your drawings. It works well with the frames that you made around the drawings. The 2nd drawing doesn't seem to me that you draw from photo.
i did work from photos, and i can see what you mean about the stillness of the photos, when i look straight ahead it does have more of a still effect. I think a lot of the stillness comes from the eyes when you look into the mirror, well the intensity.
@Andrew thanks i tried to balance out the lines effectively in a short time since each was done in 15 minutes. im trying to use less tone to see if i can make the faces pop out even more.
The technical stuff: Each week you are required to post your weekly sketchbook here--they should be uploaded before class each week. (remember, when you're scanning and posting to the blog, sketches should probably be 72 dpi and in Grayscale or RGB. Finals for printing should be scanned at 300 dpi.)
I encourage you to comment on each other's work and post any other projects or doodles you'd like to share or would like input on--this can include progress on class assignments, experiments, or links of interest you think the class would enjoy. This blog is to encourage you to help each other out, get ideas flowing, and see what everyone is up to! Have fun with it!
I'll be posting something myself each week, so stay tuned!
